Innocent Voices

A gut-wrenching, heartbreaking, and poignant story based on the real life experiences of an eleven-year-old boy (Carlos Padilla) in El Salvador and the devastating effects and repercussions that the 12-year civil war that broke out in 1980 had on his mother (Leonor Varela), his grandmother (Ofelia Medina) and uncle (José María Yazpik), his two younger siblings, and his neighbors (Daniel Giménez Cacho, Gustavo Muñoz, Adrian Alonso, Jorge Angel Toriello, Xuna Primus, et al.) as they constantly dodged bullets between Army soldiers and guerillas in their ramshackle homes and tried to evade ruthless soldiers who used harsh recruitments tactics to force twelve-year-old boys into service.
