Amazing Spider-Man, The When a genetically engineered spider bites an orphaned high school student (Andrew Garfield), who lives with his aunt (Sally Field) and uncle (Martin Sheen) after the death of his parents (Campbell Scott and Embeth Davidtz), and he takes on spider-like powers in this disjointed, lackluster, action-packed, fast-paced, 3D film filled with two-dimensional characters, problems, and great special effects, his girlfriend (Emma Stone) and her police captain father (Denis Leary) help him take down a one-armed herpetologist (Rhys Ifans) who has injected himself with reptilian DNA in an attempt to regenerate a limb and terrorizes New York City as he threatens to turn everyone into lizards.
