Ricki and the Flash

Nostalgic songs highlight this captivating, entertaining, well-acted, 102-minute, Jonathan Demme film in which an aging, broke hard-rock singing guitarist (Meryl Streep), who is estranged from her adult children (Mamie Gummer, Nick Westrate, and Sebastian Stan), leaves the safety of her band (Rick Springfield, Rick Rosas, Joe Vitale, and Bernie Worrell) in California to head to Indianapolis when she learns from her ex-husband (Kevin Kline) that her daughter is severely depressed after her cheating husband files for divorce.
