Revenant, The Fantastic cinematography and scenery dominate this engaging, intense, well-acted, factually inspired, violent, 156-minute, Alejandro González Iñárritu film based on Michael Punke's 2002 novel about the horrific, grueling ordeal of a widowed, revenge-driven fur trader (Leonardo DiCaprio) in the wild west of North America in 1823 who struggles to survive the elements and native American Indians after being mauled by a protective grizzly bear, his Indian son (Forrest Goodluck) is murdered, and his hunting companions (Tom Hardy, Lukas Haas, Will Poulter, Domhnall Gleeson, Brendan Fletcher, Paul Anderson, et al.) left him for dead.
