Aeronauts, The

Uneven pacing, difficult to understand dialogue, and an overly loud musical score detracts from Tom Harper's factually inspired, engaging, beautifully photographed, star-dotted (Sir Tom Courtenay, Himesh Patel, Tim McInnerny, Anne Reid, and Vincent Perez), 101-minute biographical film that follows the harrowing adventure of a flamboyant, courageous, wealthy, English widow (Felicity Jones) who tries to make history in London by setting an altitude record as she pilots a gas balloon with a strong-willed meteorologist (Eddie Redmayne) to more than 36,000 feet in 1862 over the English countryside with potentially disastrous consequences.
