Uncut Gems

A blaring soundtrack, foul language, and non-empathetic characters talking over one another dominate this dark, violent, repetitive, disappointing, unevenly paced, star-dotted (Eric Bogosian, Judd Hirsch, LaKeith Stanfield, Kevin Garnett, The Weeknd, Pom Klementieff, Keith Williams Richards, and Julia Fox), 135-minute comedic crime thriller in which a reckless, greedy, unscrupulous, compulsive, gambling-addicted, Manhattan, Jewish jeweler (Adam Sandler), who has a wife (Idina Menzel) and three children in New Jersey, looks to make a wad of cash by auctioning off a rare, sparkly black opal from Ethiopia but foolishly continues betting and endangering his life rather than paying off two loan shark thugs trailing him.
