Retribution

[Opened Aug. 25 in theaters.] When a workaholic, successful bank financier (Liam Neeson) living in Berlin agrees to help his neglected wife (Embeth Davidtz) by taking his two bickering teenage children (Lilly Aspell and Jack Champion) to school in Nimród Antal's gripping, suspenseful, tense, loophole-dotted, 91-minute remake of the 2015 Spanish film El Desconocido, he quickly discovers that a mysterious caller has placed a bomb equipped with a pressure sensor in his car and threatens to detonate it unless he follows orders precisely while an Interpol agent detective (Noma Dumezweni) tries to resolve the situation and his best friend (Matthew Modine) tries to reach him.
