10/31 Part III [Available Sept. 29 on various digital platforms.] Malvolia (Jennifer Nangle) the Queen of Screams hosts Michall Ballif's wacky, gory, bloody, intense, humor-dotted, violent, 83-minute thriller divided into four vignettes and dominated by mediocre acting and dialogue: 1) in Michall Ballif''s House of the Mummy, a divorced, unemployed man (James Morris) buys an ancient mummy (Samuel Morris) from a shopkeeper (Jake Watters), brings it to his Halloween-themed home, and quickly finds his sarcastic ex-wife (Emily Ashby), his assertive neighbor (Sean D. Hunter), and himself in mortal danger; 2) in Jacob Perrett's The Locksmith, a couple (Derric Hyde and Karlee Mihailov) are attacked in their new home by an evil locksmith (Taylor Rhoades) who uses a doorknob, a metal rod, and a hammer as weapons, and their unsuspecting neighbor (Rose Spencer) discovers their mutilated bodies; 3) in Brad Twigg's Old Man Gross, four not-too-bright, pranking friends (Jasmine Qudah, Justin B. Martin, Rosaria Eraso, and Brucellious Morris, Jr.) enter an elderly, reclusive neighbor's home and discover a sadistic serial killer (DéRome A. Chrétien) who dismembers his victims in the limb-covered basement; and 4) in Zane Hershberger's Hack-in-the-Box, four reckless friends (Jordan Beltz, Marissa Sabatucci, Sable Griedel, and Bridget Murphy) try to confront an evil, demonic entity when they open a Jack-in-the-Box and find more than they bargained for.
