Velveteen Rabbit, The

[Available Nov. 22 on AppleTV+.] Jennifer Perrott and Rick Thiele's engaging, family-oriented, heartwarming, well-acted, touching, partly animated, 44-minute film based on Margery Williams' 1922 classic novel in which a timid, 7-year-old British lad (Phoenix Laroche/Alex Lawther), who lives with his kindhearted parents (Samantha Colley and Leonard Buckley) and a housekeeper (Tilly Vosburgh), receives a precious toy rabbit (voiceover by Bethany Antonia) in his Christmas stocking to add to his other toys (voiceovers by Helena Bonham Carter, Paterson Joseph, Clive Rowe, and Lois Chimimba) and together they form a close friendship, and when the rabbit desires to be real, a fairy (voiceover by Nicola Coughlan) grants his wish.
