Renner [Opens Feb. 7 in theaters.] Robert Rippberger's captivating, well-written, dark, superbly acted, unpredictable, 90-minute sci-fi thriller in which a reclusive, OCD-afflicted, socially inept, lonely AI developer (Frankie Muniz) creates a software program (voiceover by Marcia Gay Harden) to help him build confidence in order to meet someone, and when his sexy neighbor (Violett Beane), whose slacker half-brother (Taylor Gray) lives with her, shows interest, the plot takes an interesting twist.
